- Download rootupdate.zip
- Rename to update.zip
- Place on sdcard (the built in card, not the removable)
- Boot into recovery mode
(shut off phone, then hold power, volume up, & volume down at the same time) - Select "Reinstall Packages"
- Enjoy, you now have a rooted device!
Great Job.
ReplyDeleteLol. Nice! How's the galaxy s? Is it better than the Droid x as far as bootloaders go? Speed? Stability? Lol. I love this stuff!
ReplyDeleteMan those Galaxy S phones look sweet, if it was my time to upgrade I think I would leave my original Droid for one. That's right, no Droid 2, no Droid X.
ReplyDeleteDoes it work on the Vibrant?
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you working on Samsung, Pete. Moto has forsaken us :( I hope you check out the Galaxy Tablet when it comes out.
ReplyDeleteIf you are unsure, I will test it out.

Pete, is the BB.05 going to be based off FRG01B or FRG22? What themes are going to be available for it. ETA????
ReplyDelete@Krstofer, how well did Pete's ROM work on the Vibrant?
ReplyDeleteHey Pete, will this root work on the Fascinate when it comes out the 9th, or is it a wait and see thing? Can't wait for the Fascinate, and to root it!

ReplyDeletehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751182
since the file sizes and contents of the zip files varies.
Hi, how do you get the PowerOn sound to to come back on after you disabled it, on the Samsung Captivate. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHey Pet, I did everything as you mentioned and when I hit reinstall package, I got this error message; E:signature verification failed. Installation aborted. I actually keep getting this error with all rooting file that I tried and I do not know why. So, what I did is that I downloaded the file directly from my phone and made sure it is on the internal sd card and then I followed the rest of he instructions. Do I need to have special software or do any setting before I reboot in the recovery mode.
ReplyDeleteThanks and waiting for your help.
Hi, I am just wondering if you guys usually offer reply to questions or not and if you do, is it going to be posted in this page also or where?
ReplyDeleteHi :)
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me if I can use this root on my Galaxy S Showcase from Cellsouth/Cspire? http://www.cspire.com/shop_and_learn/devices/product_phone_detail.jsp?id=prod23560025
My battery life is horrible and I heard rooting the phone helps with that.
Thanks!
