Last night I worked on the build a bit, getting it ready to compile Android 2.3.7 when
kernel.org comes back up. There is a new build available for all the devices I support (Droid, Nexus S, Nexus S 4G). Changes include all the new 2.3.7 G-Apps, new proprietaries for Nexus S and Nexus S 4G, all the files necessary for Google Wallet, and also a few bug fixes in the framework. To download the build visit my downloads page:
download.peteralfonso.com
Note:
- Google Wallet will not work until I am able to compile Android 2.3.7
- Build number will display GWK74 although it is still truly GRJ90
- This is a "nightly" build, if you want a "stable" build use GPA17
As always, to see exact changes visit my
github. One more thing, if you wan't to see my ROM on the Nexus One and will sell one to me for cheap or are willing to donate one please contact me!
Thanks Pete! Good looking out, now just the wait for android.kernel.org to come back...
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter, you are the man!Looking forward to 2.3.7 so my Droid can keep rolling along.
ReplyDeleteYeah, waiting for this too. Unfortunately, I went back to stock for the mean time so I could use wallet. But I will be right back on this as soon as Pete rolls out the GPA with 2.3.7
ReplyDeleteThanks Pete, glad to see you are back. So now I can keep my OG DROID moving with the times.
ReplyDeleteI am curious, will you be attempting to support the A855 "OG" Droid through android 4.0?
ReplyDeleteI am embarrassed to ask....but will anu of these run on the Bionic?
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a extra nexus one to give you..

ReplyDeletePete's roms are for the Droid (Sholes), Nexus S (Crespo), and Sprint Nexus S 4G (Crespo 4G). They will not work on the Bionic.
If you do not have these phones, do not attempt loading these roms, ALL custom roms are phone specific.
Oh for petes sake!!!i was on your roms forever on my Droid until i just got my X2 - please support!!!
ReplyDeleteYour roms are smoother then a glycerin coated catfish spleen!whoever says otherwise has simply not seen the light :)

Peter- How do these changes affect the release that the nightly would be compiled once kernel.org is back up?
@ jdepew
ReplyDeleteThanks....I have been running Pete's rom's on my Droid wonderfully! Upgraded to the Bionic...just wanted the magic back!
Pete, any chance you could incorporate controls into the notification bar on the next build? For many, its the one thing that keeps them from switching from SS.
ReplyDeleteAny chance the next roms for Nexus S 4g could be flashed on without having to download all the apps over again.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pete, love your work and appreciate you keeping my Droid 1 alive. Sending money.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thank Jack for the zombie art, only wish I could save it for wallpaper. :)
ReplyDeletedecided to give 10-2-11 nightly a try and so far so good pete! It is damn stable! running 0.3 lv kernel at 900mhz beautifully! doesn't seem much difference between gpa17. Appreciate all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteLooks like kernel.org is back up and running--excited to see what you whip up after you get it compiled!
ReplyDeletePete, the camera stores images again in the 10-5-11 download, and, your kernel in this nightly seems to work faster on my Droid. Will try it a while to see if I need to change kernels. Kepp up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for these firmwares. I picked this one for my OG Droid and chose the Nexus 4G as the upgrade ONLY because of this firmware!
ReplyDeleteQuick question: any way to fix the Voicemail hotkey for Sprint? When I use it, a message about the the calling feature doesn't exist. The work around is to call my number to access VM.
Can't wait for a new build, would like to try out Google Wallet.
Pete, I sent the last comment. Yesterday I upgraded to a Droid Bionic. While it is all the things claimed in the reviews, its bloat ware doesnt compare well to your GPA series. I hope you will find a way to expand your work to include the Bionic in the near future. Thanks again for all you have done.
ReplyDeletePete any chance you may get involved with ICS
