Seems like its been forever since my last release, sorry for the delay. Been pretty busy the past few weeks, finished the Spring semester at UCF, moved back home, and got a job. I'm actually quite tired and no words of wisdom are coming to me to share with you all so I will make this short. Basically GPA15 is the shit, check the changelog for details!
GPA15 (60.1MB)
Download | Statistics
GPA16 will be Android 2.3.4 if you were wondering.
Note: If you have no sound when making a call, you need to reboot once. Also note, if you wish to overclock you need to install the "AutoOverclock.zip" from my kernel post.
awesome! thx pete
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteCould you provide the specifics on how your memory and oom parameters differ from stock?
ReplyDelete"Basically GPA15 is the shit"
ReplyDeleteI guess that seals it, I have to upgrade..
One word - Downloading!
ReplyDeleteyes! thnx pete
ReplyDeletethere is NO better way to end the night!
ReplyDeletePete, the Netflix app works on your GPA14. Would it be possible for you to try it out with GPA15 and let me know if it works still? That's the only thing keeping me from upgrading.
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
"GPA15 is the shit " Does it mean is it good or bad?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hell yeah! I was checking every day to see if there was any updates. I'm installing right now.
ReplyDeletescratch that, just reflashed again and it seems to be working fine. Dunno what happened.
ReplyDeleteAm I doing this right. I'm using setCPU set at 125min and 800 max. Seems to work. Thanks for all the hard work on these great roms.
ReplyDeleteYeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :x
ReplyDeleteThank Pete so much.!!!
Downloading ...
YES! Just in time for my weekend so I can root now! =D Thx Pete!
ReplyDeleteYeah this is definitly the shit can't wait for GP16. Hey pete can I delete stuff on this build like the stock browser
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great way to start off the weekend! That short phrase of wisdom was definitely enough to convince me
ReplyDeletewith "the shit" co-sign I have to give this a go... any changes since the May 2nd beta?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be running quicker with the stock 800MHz than GPA14 was with the 1000MHz kernel. thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteAh yes another fine release~ Thanks for the update Pete! And congrats on getting a new job :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new update and new job!
ReplyDeleteTime to test this thing out.
Hey Pete what is the default kernel this is running? I was using your 1ghz version 0.2 kernel prior to GPA15. Do I need to reflash? Also do I need to reflash autoclock.zip as well?
ReplyDelete@esc, yes you will need to reflash the kernel and autooverclock.zip
ReplyDeleteAwesome Pete~ Thanks for the quick response! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI going to try this out. Keep em coming pete. Thanks
ReplyDeletepete, are you going to be able to do the same with ice cream sandwiuch?
ReplyDeleteI woke up to GPA15 this morning and it's possibly the best thing I woke up to in years. Since GPA13, the beta testing and the new kernels, it's great to finally see the masterpiece of 2.3.3. I already heard awesome things of 2.3.4 and I know you'll make that the shit too. Already can't wait for GPA16. As always, continue being perfectionately awesome.
ReplyDeleteI want to flash this ROM, but Peter, can you answer this question for me please? Thanks
ReplyDeleteI want to flash this ROM and run a Low Voltage kernel to save a ton of battery life. You think you can give me instructions on how to do this? Thanks.
Pete,
ReplyDeleteIs is possible to save text messages that are in my phone now when flashing new ROM?
Thanks
@Snivy - just flash GPA15 (do Data/Cache/Dalvik wipe 3 times first), then after that flash the LV kernel of your choice and the autooverclock.zip - that's it.
ReplyDeleteSam: I use this before I flash a ROM and then just restore the backup:
ReplyDeletehttps://market.android.com/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore
Also, of course Pete puts this out after I spend two days fighting with various GB ROMs and finally throwing the baby out with the bathwater and rolling back to a Froyo ROM because of the frakking memory manager issues.
ReplyDeleteOh well, that's what ROM backups are for.
Downloaded and loooving it. Thank you Pete.
ReplyDeleteThank you RumDood. I found that Titanium Backup does it also!
ReplyDeleteNetflix works fine on GPA15 w/ my droid 1 just tested it.
ReplyDeleteFantastic and in response to the Netflix question yes it works great with GPA15. I'm also running the 1.0Ghz V0.2 lv kernel.
ReplyDeleteHey Pete,
ReplyDeleteCan you explain the advantages to using your AutoOverclock.zip versus SetCPU? Thanks.
How do you get netflix on your droid 1? Market said the device is not supported and will not allow download?
ReplyDeleteUse the link below for directions to get netflix on droid 1
ReplyDeletehttp://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/ha5oh/root_how_to_edit_your_buildprop_to_make_netflix/
I used the nexus s as the model and then used super manager to edit the build.prop file.
Netflix runs great on 3g and wifi and looks real good with the droid 1 and gpa15 thanks pete :)
Thanks Pete - I installed right over GPA14 without a hitch - is the default 800 kernel LV or SV?
ReplyDeletecan it work with moto milestone
ReplyDeleteWorks Great with 1Ghz Low V and now thanks to the coments here with Netflix you guys are great. Clicking donate link right now ;-)
ReplyDeleteKeeping me in love with my OG Droid till the Bionic/Targa release. Thanks a lot!
ReplyDelete...I graduated from UCF 2 years ago..GO KNIGHTS!
Thank you Pete! Ive been checking your website everyday since the release of GPA14 waiting for GPA15 to FINALLY be released! Of course the day I go up to the lake with no internet and barely any reception you release this, but thank you for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteI have been a longtime follower of yours. You are the Rom King my friend. Thank you so much for all of your hard work. As always Live It, Love It, Android-Life!
ReplyDeleteThis build is amazing... Thank you so much Pete!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting through another semester. You'll have a thousand letters of recommendation by the time you graduate.
ReplyDeleteP.S. try "shizzle" next time, you never know who's following you and it's always best to play it safe. ;)
Guys, I'm on GPA14. Do I need to wipe data and cache for this? Thank you in advance and long live Pete Alfonso!
ReplyDeletePete did it again, my Droid its flying with GPA15 and his 1ghz LV kernel. Thanks for all your work.
ReplyDeleteRuns better than stock deodexed and way faster. This is the shit!! Peter, your the bomb
ReplyDeletewill this with with a milestone?
ReplyDeleteHey Pete? Can I use GPA15 with an old baseband? I really want to try it, but I cannot change my baseband because I am not on Verizon, I am on another network (ntelos) and last time I changed my baseband I lost 3g altogether (had to have phone replaced).
ReplyDeletewell it figures my work schedule gets changed, i have to wait til tuesday night to flash. downloading now tho, and cant freakin WAIT! Been VERY happy with 13 and 14, both of which were improvements over previous ROMs. Thanks Pete, didnt mind waiting for this at all!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome... It's better... No lag... FAST BOOT OMFG, when i rebooted my Droid took 5 seconds to start Android.. Really nice...
ReplyDeleteRunning GPA 15 with 1.0 LV KERNEL.
Thanks Pete.
The two features I miss from CM7 are their fancy pulldown menu and the ability to lock the widgets.
ReplyDeleteI think this is the ROM for the pulldown menu:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814890
Possible to incorporate it?
sorry about bein a newbie but im still on the totally stock droid, version 2.2.2, build FRG83G. would i need to root my phone or anything in order to use this 2.3.4? or if there is a spot on this forum with instructions, id love to read through that instead of making someone type all the instruction. Any help is much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteFastest boot time I have ever seen on any rom. KUDOS to Peter!!!!!
ReplyDeletesorry about bein a newbie but im still on the totally stock droid, version 2.2.2, build FRG83G. would i need to root my phone or anything in order to use this 2.3.4? or if there is a spot on this forum with instructions, id love to read through that instead of making someone type all the instruction. ReplyDeletehow to update?
ReplyDeleteAmazing job Pete. This ROM flies when OC'd. Running GPA15 w/ the 1.2GHz LV kernal (v2) and it's incredibly fast. Wireless & Bluetooth tethering work with my Xoom, Netflix works, and Trillian app appears to be fixed, for whatever reason Trillian refused to connect in GPA14. Thanks so much, keep up the amazing work!
ReplyDeleteThanx Pete, this rom is so smooth and works great. I have had one random reboot. But compared to cm7 stable and nightlies everything just works right. Still can't wait for maybe some bugless bread. Thanx for the great roms. Oh Congrats on finishing school.
ReplyDelete@michael, yes you need to be rooted and this is only 2.3.3. Head over to xda on how to root or I personally use the superoneclick method google superoneclick. Don't apologize for being a newbie, once upon a time we all rooted for the first time and none of us were able to just wing it without some sort of direction. Good luck, add years onto the life of your phone thanks to people like pete
ReplyDeleteAlevee: no you do not need to wipe you can jus flash it right over gpa14. Same with the kernels and the overclock zip
ReplyDeleteThanks Pete, running GPA15 with 1Ghz_sv, everything seems to be running good. Install netflix and no issues there. Can wait to see what GPA16 bring.
ReplyDeleteI've installed AutoOverClock.zip as instructed, but I'm having trouble finding any documentation on how to set it up or what it's actually doing. I'm used to using SetCPU, and having the ability to underclock my phone when it's not in use, and set a temp limit to cut the clock speed when the processor starts to overheat. Is this ROM / Kernel compatible with SetCPI? Does AutoOverClock.zip have these features? If so, how do I set them? And if not, do I need to uninstall AutoOverClock.zip somehow in order to go back to SetCPU? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteUPDATE - fixed boot loop - had to hard/factory reset. Looks GREAT!!!!
ReplyDeleteWas App2SD added to this ROM? Or did I pick that up somewheres else? Is it possible to disable the notification every time an app is updated?
ReplyDeleteComing from the last bb build. Can someone give me instruction on how to flash this new build and if I should uninstall setcpu.
ReplyDeleteAnd what is the best way to reinstall apps?
ReplyDeleteNetflix works, verified with GPA15.
ReplyDeleteNetflix I used: http://db.tt/iQn7AiZ
ReplyDeletethis has google apps doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThis has google apps doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteCan this update be flashed over FRG83 (not FRG83G) (after wiping data/cache of course)?
ReplyDeleteAmazing new ROM! Thanks a lot Peter! Anyone know of a way to get the five buttons from BB 0.6 on the bottom of the GPA15 screen? I really miss having those there already.
ReplyDeleteIs this overclocked at 800 mhz?
ReplyDeleteFantastic, thanks Peter.
ReplyDeleteJust a note to anybody that experiences it, if the install hangs to long it might not boot properly. Just hook it back up to usb and run 'adb reboot recovery' then run the installer again.
Fixed no boot problem right up.
Mines keeps saying download unsuccessful? Any tips?
ReplyDelete@Jeremy, Use Titanium Backup from market. Run complete backup before wipe, then restore after wipe.
ReplyDeleteHey Pete, great job again! Is there any advantage to using AutoOverClock instead of SetCPU? SetCPU seems to not always be playing nice with the new v2 kernals for my particular phone. Everything is smooth as glass for me with GPA15 using your v1 1.00GHz kernal, but I'd like to get in on the goodness in your newer version. If AutoOverClock is my only hangup, I'm dumping good ol' SetCPU.
ReplyDeleteHey Pete, thanks for 2.3.3 - so far so good on my D1. Of course now you're going to be hounded for 2.3.4 -- see: http://it.slashdot.org/story/11/05/17/1538226/Swiped-Tokens-Expose-Android-Devices-To-Data-Theft
ReplyDeleteJust tested everything with GPA15 and it fixed my LinkedIn and My Verizon issues from GPA14, but broke Amazon MP3 (which I've just decided to live without). A really great release. I'm not sure I even want to upgrade my phone now.
ReplyDeleteWhere is home? Central Florida area?
ReplyDeleteNetflix says my device isn't compartable D1. I didn't come from GPA14 to GPA15 without wipe. Can someone help.
ReplyDeleteYou the man peter thank you!! Fixed my five guys app... My Amazon MP3 App worked fine until I updated it to the latest version. No big deal I can live without the app
ReplyDeleteUse this for netflix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13730742&postcount=16
ReplyDelete@Davest: I believe AutoOverClock.zip has fancy ways to automatically govern your cpu for you. Try unintalling anything that governs and let it do it for you. i'm using the low voltage 1.0 kernel and my batter easily lasts all day on this old phone.
ReplyDeleteNetflix working fine for me on GPA15 just like it did for GPA14
ReplyDeleteHow do I get to the files to change the settings?
ReplyDeleteI have never gotten as good signal or data speed. Weird. Great build as usual. Netflix working. Battery life is good. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is great. And I tested the netflix install link posted above that ends with =16. Completely functional and amazingly fast. Looking forward to GPA16. Pete rocks!
ReplyDeleteI got stuck in the dreaded boot loop a few times trying to use ROM manager and clockworkmod recovery, but then I just installed from a manual recovery, and then flashed the .8 Ghz LV kernel. I must to say this is awesome and thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pete! Again your complete and utter awesomeness has breathed new life into my moto droid! I love your work! 15 with the 1.1 ghz lv kernel absolutely flies!
ReplyDeleteYou rock~
GPA15 + Pete's 1 Ghz low-voltage kernel. Ran from 6 AM to 9:20 PM with wifi and GPS enabled and I've still got 40% left on the battery. Probably used the phone more today than I usually do and I'm getting better battery life than usual. THANKS PETE!
ReplyDeleteBeing a noob to this... are there any step by step instructions around on how to upgrade my Droid 1 from stock 2.2.2 FRG83G to this build? Thank You
ReplyDeleteAnyone have a walk-though for those of us who have never rooted their phones before?
ReplyDeleteAlong with the Kernels.
-Thanks!
Pete like always you deliver something HUGE and most excellently! You are going to do alright in the job market when you get out of school!!! Running GPA15 w/ 1.1GHz LV v0.2 ... thanks so much, glad I can join for the ride
ReplyDeleteThis is amazingly fast. It blows my mind. LOVE IT!!!! Keep up the awesome work.
ReplyDeletethanx peter....good job
ReplyDeleteWith Pete's 1.1Ghz kernel, this rom flies and has been extremely stable. Great job Pete.
ReplyDeleteGPA15 is awesome. It just works (and appears to have fixed a licensing problem I had with activating my Bria (SIP client) license on GPA13. Thanks again Peter (sent a $25 donation when I installed GPA13).
ReplyDeleteSorry but im afraid i dont get how to install this ROM, i have previusly instaled nandroid on my system but dont know how to proceed with peter rom, does somebody have a installation guide or something i can use to try this room? i also dont get how to use the speed rooms ?? sorry but im kind of new over this
ReplyDeleteData connection loss after calls was still a problem for me using GPA 15. Flashed the 5-31 nightly build of Gpa16 beta and the data connection problem is fixed! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter! Tried the 1.2GHz LV Kernel first thing, works flawlessly. Netflix works great, wifi tether (barnacle) works also. No bugs or force closes what so ever.
ReplyDeleteThis is by far the fastest most stable rom I've used to date. I'm very impressed..
Damn your good!
Hi Peter - I have a HTC Desire rooted but without S-OFF. Have been keeping an eye on this site & would love to try some of your roms - Would this be possible with my phone ?
ReplyDeleteCheers
Sean
upgraded my stock froyo droid to gpa15, 1.0ghz low voltage and autooverclock last night. Pretty much painless once you get the right tools and understand the steps. Phone is running great, and I'm not in so much of a hurry to pick out my next one now! great job
ReplyDeletewhen is GPA16 coming out? what will be diff.?
ReplyDeleteHow can I get Russian keyboard and language support back? Every rom I use has been removing it. It is very disappointing :'(
ReplyDeleteWent on Market, got ROM Manager. Then Flashed Clockwork Recovery app. Then Flashed GPA15. Then flashed 1GHZ LV Kernal. Then Flash AutoOverclock.zip. Now runs very smooth. Can't tell about battery life yet. Just flashing GPA15 over stock Froyo seemed to be choppy and staggerish. But with the 1Ghz Kernal and AutoOverclock.zip flashed, runs just as nice as my DroidX with Gingerbread. Great work. Donation sent.
ReplyDeleteand the google apps?
ReplyDeletePete - You are the man. Thank you so much for your work. I think that what you're doing for the Android OS is a beautiful service.
ReplyDeletePeter Alfonso - Would it be possible for you to setup an email notification system for when you have new releases of GPA, AutoOverclock.zip, Basebands and Droid Kernels? This would be very helpful.
ReplyDeletePete it's almost time to upgrade for me as i'm sure it is for you too, so i'm wondering which phone will you choose next? If you keep up at all with it like you do/did the Moto Droid then we're all sure to have another great phone to last us a while.
ReplyDeletePete-
ReplyDeleteThe Natives are growing restless.
B. Hurd
Sorry for a dumb question but its not in the change log and I was just wondering if anyone knows the program menu passcode when you dial ##7764726?
ReplyDeleteHey Peter, My Old Geezer gave up the ghost and finally quit. I just got a new Thunderbold and am hoping that will be your next choice. I really enjoy following your progression through these ROM's. Thanks for keeping this old retired guy entertained. Will keep checking this site for the fun of it.....
ReplyDeleteIt would be fantastic if at all possible you could add a "quiet ringer on pickup" option. Other than that, this rom is fantastic! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeletegreat rom pete, stable and fast, the problem is that i am technologically ADHD and need a new rom every other week! when is the next release planned for?
ReplyDeletecan sombody help me everytime i try updating i get a updated aborted message on my droid
ReplyDeletePeter, I was using your BB on my original Droid a few years ago and was wondering if it will ever be coming to Droid X anytime soon and/or devices in the future like the Droid Bionic? I miss tinkering with it and can't with the X. Loved the speed increases with my original Droid, even though 1.2ghz made the thing hot to touch. I also heard that the keys were released from the Droid X for devs like yourself to tinker with them. Hope to hear from you soon dude, keep up the good work. :-)
ReplyDeleteHey Pete, we need the next update!
ReplyDeletePete, what phone will you have next? whenever you decide or get it, can you make a post to let us know? my next phone completely depends on what phone you have and will be supporting
ReplyDeleteI'm currently running FRG83D, I rooted my OG Droid and deleted system apps and now I cant update to FRG83G. What are the steps flashing this rom? 1) Do I flash GPA 15 then flash the kernal to the speed i want to use? 2) Do I flash the AutoOverClock.zip? If someone can break it down for me it would be much appreciated.
ReplyDelete2.3.4 please?
ReplyDeletePeter,
ReplyDeleteLove your roms! If you want, I think a gpa update devoted directly to battery life would be awesome.
Thanks, eric
Can i install this on any android device? for example, atrix 4g?
ReplyDeleteanyone tell me where I can find autooverclock.zip and the instructions for it? I've been looking here and can't seem to find any details for it.
ReplyDeleteHi, i download the GPA16 the autooverclock and update from here... but when i flash my motorolo amilestone said.. my device not is sholes.. any idea?. i wipe more than 2 times...so?
ReplyDeleteStill loving this ROM. My 3rd Rom from Peter and his will definitely be my Rooted ROMs from now on. only glitch I got is after every reboot it wants to default back to the ANDROID keyboard and I have to go back in and disable it to use my T9Flex, which is a little annoying but livable
ReplyDeleteDid you have to reinstall all of your apps after installing this update?
ReplyDeleteanyone using a theme with this or launcher pro?
ReplyDeleteRuns smooth on Droid 1 (OG Droid) with new 1ghz LV Kernel. Using ADW Launcher and did not need to reinstall most apps. A few did need reinstall, but not sure why. Everything good. Runs smoother than 2.3.4 on my phone. Get Root Explorer if you want to remove QuickOffice. Awesome work Pete!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you install this ROM on Droid 1......I'm a total noob!
ReplyDelete
