0. If you are activating a newly purchased phone, view the "Note" below.
1. Dial and call: ##7764726
2. Enter SPC password: 000000
3. Select "User Activation"
4. Change "MIN" to your match your previously activated phone's "MIN"
- To Find "MIN"
- Menu > Settings > About Phone > Status > MIN
6. Press "Done"
7. Press home key (to return to homescreen)
8. Device will automatically restart
Note:
- "CDMA Sys ID" is area specific and should not need to be changed unless you recently purchased the phone.
- If you did recently purchase your phone, follow the same steps as above and use your activated phone's "CDMA Sys ID" number in this field.
- After manually activating a device, it is a good idea to update its "Roaming Capabilities" by dialling: *22899
- As always if you have any questions, call Verizon at 1-800-922-0204
Bonus Tip/Trick:
If you have recently flashed a new ROM or baseband and wish to bypass the pesky activation screen simply tap the top left corner, top right corner, bottom right corner, and bottom left corner of the screen consecutively and it will bring you to the home screen.
7764726 = "program" on your keyboard......

another easy way to activate a different phone (although it does require a computer, so is not so handy if you aren't near one) is to log on to "My Verizon" at verizonwireless.com, click the "Activate Phone" link, choose the phone number, shut off the old phone, type in the new phone's EIN and click submit. then you just have to dial *228 and choose option 1, let the phone reboot, and voila.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteI've had the same problem switching my phones around and hate having to call to talk to an actual person. I wonder what changed on their systems. I used to switch my phones 5+ times a week without having any issues.
Maybe it was a typo, but *228 option 1 programs your phone (and updates the prl list). *228 option 2 is just for updating prl.
ReplyDeleteAlso *22899 is the same^ as *228 option 1, but without having to respond to any prompts (^supposedly this is the activation code for aircards)
ReplyDeleteThis didn't work for me :(. So I followed your steps and when I went to automatically reboot itself. It rebooted, then like it still said I needed to activate it, help?!

ReplyDeleteAfter I rooted my phone I have to manually program it using ##progam but the phone is saying I am on a US Celular network when I have Verizon. The phone won't allow me to activate and it is not allowing me 3g. I have a triangle up next to my 1x signal. Please help This is my second phone that this has happened to.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment add Pete. Got an idea for an app Dandroid at woodsidetattoo@gmail.com
ReplyDeletehey pledf420 you gotta drive to a 3g area i live in the western tip of Maryland in garrett county and i get the same exact message from US Cellular. What Verizon finally told me to do is to travel to a 3g coverage area which for me was in Sommerset PA which is only about 25 mins away the second i got to 3g i was able to activate my phone wo an issue. Also for anyone else stuck in the edge network, in order for verizon to put up a 3g tower in your area you need a petition signed by 100 people otherwise they will continue to pay US Celular for their tower usage. Hope this helps
ReplyDelete@pledf420 How did you fix the issue with roaming? Mine isn't allowing me to do the *228 activation either and I have that annoying blue roaming triangle constantly. #droid2global
